With its eight-speed automatic transmission, you can expect to reach up to 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.^[1] When you choose the Sorento EX and above, you’ll get a turbocharged version of that engine, delivering 281 horsepower, 311 lb-ft of torque, and up to 29 mpg on the highway on front-wheel drive (FWD) models.^[1]

For mid-range fuel economy, go with the hybrid Kia Sorento. This model’s two trims are powered by the same 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that gets up to 227 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Working with a six-speed automatic transmission, the Sorento Hybrid reaches up to 39 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway for FWD models while all-wheel drive (AWD) models get up to 36 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.^[1]

The Sorento Plug-In Hybrid comes in a single trim, equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 261 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Because it is a plug-in hybrid, you can expect up to 35 MPGe in the city, 33 MPGe on the highway, and 32 miles of all-electric range.^[1]

Technology

All new Sorento models are outfitted with smart technology to help you stay connected and entertained on the go. Across each model’s lineup, you’ll find things like a large touch-screen display with navigation, Kia Connect remote access, remote start, a wireless phone charger, multiple USB charging ports across all rows, and smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay^® and Android Auto™.
